The lamp I designed is inspired by a seesaw. Instead of rotating the same old knob to control your light, I created a lamp where you push down a shaft. The shaft rotates around a pivot point and moves the lamp up and down. The amount of light is determined by the position the lamp is in, this not only changes the amount of light but also the appearance of the lamp. The movement of the lamp dims the light when it goes down and makes the light brighter when it moves up. The lamp adds a new active movement to dimming your light.
The lamp is made of a combination of bronze and wood nicely finished with a transparent lacquer to protect the lamp, without taking away the natural aesthetics of the materials. The materials flow seamlessly into each other creating a whole.
The cable is neatly incorporated into the shaft and frame to hide it as much as possible. The lampshade is 3D printed making it fit to the wood perfectly, without the need for extra fitting pieces. The lampshade can be removed for easy replacement of the light bulb. The lamp is made without any glue every part can be removed by screws and repaired when necessary.
