The assignment I was given was to choose a current event or movement in society and make it into a spatial work in which I show what inspires me about this event or movement.
I chose the subject of digitization, because I work with that a lot myself. I looked at the influence of technology on communication. Communication is different from the old days due to technology. The phone is a means of communication. The phone makes it easier to communicate with people who live far away. At the same time, I see that physical communication suffers from this.
I made two people who are in the same room. The two people do not have any form of physical contact and are both in their own world. They are in contact with each other via their mobile phone. I see this as a roundabout way because it would be easier to have physical contact. That is why I made the connection line between the phones as a detour. I have made little use of colours to put more focus on the situation.
